Our bodies love movement. When we stretch or dance, our bodies adjust, realign and start to become fluid with the rhythm of life. Our mood lifts
and we feel more connected with the world around us. If you are feeling stuck, ready to release old energy, or eager to feel more alive, try moving your body. By giving your muscles a chance to do what they were created for, you may find that all areas of your body and your life benefit as
Many times we can be so busy that we forget moving our body is even an option. Some of us remain seated at our computer for hours every day or rush from task to task with robotic precision. When we are caught up in crossing items off our to-do lists, we tend to neglect all the opportunities there are to enjoy our bodies in the process of living. If this is true for
you, begin looking for opportunities to move.
I love my fitbit. I am writing my next book and as I sit at my computer,
sometimes for many hours on end, the Fitbit reminds me by the hour to
take it for a walk. I get up and move my body for ten minutes and I get
close to or I exceed 10,000 steps daily, while writing.
You might try dancing or moving about freely as you clean your home, tend your garden or care for your children. If you are able to devote a set amount of time to self-care, practices such as yoga, dance, tai chi and walking are all great ways to keep your body in motion.
Imagine how freeing it would feel to trust your body’s movements
completely, knowing it has a perfect strength and rhythm of its own. See
if you can sense your bones providing graceful support, your muscles and tendons expanding and contracting in just the right measure, your lungs changing pace to fill deeply with fresh air. Movement is a vital
celebration of life. It is a way to proclaim your own existence and relish
in the joy of being alive. Today, and into the future, give yourself the gift of your body in motion.
Grab your scarves and dance around your home, feeling the flow of the
colors in the fabric. Enjoy your body movement. It is the only way that it counts.
|Happiness is a choice and a darn good one!|

When we take the time to recognize when we are happy and what that feels like, it becomes easier to recreate again and again.
Those of us on the path of personal and spiritual growth have a tendency to analyze our unhappiness in order to find the causes and make improvements. But it is just as important, if not more so, to analyze our happiness. Since we have the ability to rise above and observe our emotions, we can recognize when we are feeling joyful and content. Then we can harness the power of the moment by savoring our feelings and taking time to be grateful for them.
This was part of a discussion in my a Venerable Women
Gathering that I attended last evening. It became apparent, of course, that we are seeking happiness as a feeling, an awareness that comes from within. When we connect to this, our highest self, we stop apologizing for who we are and who we desire to become. What would that feel like for you? What would change in your life?
Recognition is the first step in creating change, therefore recognizing what it feels like to be happy is the first step toward sustaining happiness in our lives. We can examine how joy feels in our bodies and what thoughts run through our minds in times of bliss. Without diminishing its power, we can retrace our steps to discover what may have put us in this frame of mind, and then we can take note of the choices we’ve made while there. We might realize that we are generally more giving and forgiving when there’s a smile on our face, or that we are more likely to laugh off small annoyances and the actions of others when they don’t resonate with our light mood. You will begin to crave more of this state of beingness. It’s simply refreshing…
Once we know what it feels like and can identify some of the triggers and are aware of our actions, we can recreate that happiness when we are feeling low. Knowing that like attracts like, we can pull ourselves out of a blue mood by focusing on joy. We might find that forcing ourselves to be giving and forgiving, even when it doesn’t seem to come naturally, helps us to reconnect with the joy that usually precedes it. If we can identify a song, a picture, or a pet as a happiness trigger, we can use them as tools to recapture joy if we are having trouble finding it. By focusing our energy on analyzing happiness and all that it encompasses, we feed, nurture, and attract more of it into our lives, eventually making a habit of happiness. I call this ‘sweet manifesting.’
Finding this place is completely within your reach. You have control inside of this state. This is where you begin to realize what ‘Regret Free Living’ is all about. It’s a wonderful feeling. It’s empowering.
We all have the ability to heal ourselves from childhood pain at the deepest level.
We may discover issues of trust coming up, or perhaps we find ourselves mirroring actions from our past instinctively. No matter the case, we have the power within us to heal ourselves at the deepest level. With the wisdom of an adult, we can be the loving parent or guardian we needed as a child. Knowing that we are each whole spiritual beings having a human experience, we can nurture ourselves from that wholeness, and then reach out to others as well. We can recreate scenarios in our mind’s eye, trying different outcomes and following them to their logical conclusions. In doing so, we may be able to imagine possible reasons a situation occurred as it did, and even accept that it could not have happened any other way. With the wisdom born from age and experience, we might be able to see events from a different perspective, bringing new understanding and freeing ourselves from any hold the past may have on us. This insight allows us to live within a new frame. It creates a space for us to have a new, different and healthy relationship with the part of ourselves that we continually push away. This adds up to permanent change in our old stories and patterns of behavior. Life would surely look and feel different from this vantage point.
Life offers opportunities to clear these weeds in the gardens of our souls. However, when we want to focus on easier and more pleasant tasks, we are likely to pass up the chances, leaving the wounds to continue to drain our energy and resources for living life fully today. We might find we need support to face the events of the past, so turning to a trained professional who can offer tools for healing can be a valid choice. As long as we remember that the child we were lives on within us, we are always free to go back and right old wrongs, correct mistaken perceptions, heal wounds, forgive, and begin anew.
Moving out of the past and into the present is pure possibility. The time is right in front of you. The time is now.
Food For ‘Your Thoughts’
I Am your constant companion.
I Am your greatest asset or your heaviest burden.
I will push you up to success or down to disappointment.
I Am at your command, really it’s that simple.

Who Am I?
I Am a habit, I Am an “Inner Aspect” of you…
Think about the simplicity of “The Habit”. The power behind this action, conscious and sub consciously our thoughts become things. You are always in charge when you know how to be. What does this really mean? Could you be ready to do “The Work” ?
I’m doing some very powerful “Work” with my coach and my inner being and bringing that aspect(s) of me into a position of total support, just by simply acknowledging with gratitude and requesting that which I desire to be supported fully. You may feel uneasy about family disturbances today and powerless to do anything about them. Your concern for loved ones in trouble may urge you to take on their burdens, or you might experience conflicts that seem to have no solution. You may find it helpful to simply release troublesome situations to the universe and focus only on infusing them with love and harmony today. I say today as there is no better time than the present to bring feelings of harmony to someone else as this is a gift to self as well. While this may seem ineffective at first glance, your calm and loving attitude will begin to attract more harmonious energy that can soothe frustration and leave a healing balm in its wake. You can also carry this focus further by spending time in meditative visualization, clearly imagining loved ones surrounded by healing energy and harmonious influences.
By focusing on love and harmony in our relationships, we invite more loving and harmonious energy from the universe. When our emotions are tied up in relationship difficulties, it is easy to forget how powerful our thoughts are in resolving problems. Simply by lifting our thoughts above the turmoil and seeking a greater sense of harmony in our own minds, we are able to also call forth more harmonious energy from the universe. Not only does this infuse our relationship connections with a calming influence but it can also help us release resistance and let go of unreasonable expectations. Rather than forcing our relationships to heal, we simply allow them to flow harmoniously to a healthier state. With your thoughts focused firmly on love and harmony, you can initiate a powerful process of healing for your relationships today and every day to come.
Be well and remember, no one can take your peace from you, only you can allow it to be disrupted. Get out of your head and into your heart and the things you look at will most certainly “Feel’ different. All is well in your world and so it is…..
What has been your experience regarding “letting go”?
By no means am I an expert in the art of letting go….in fact, it is one of my daily challenges, which is why I am choosing to write about it. Letting go is hard for many of us and causes much anguish and unnecessary grief. What exactly is meant by “letting go”? Jon Kabat-Zinn in his book Wherever You Go There You Are sums it up nicely:
Letting go means just what is says. It’s an invitation to
cease clinging to anything – whether it be an idea, a
a thing, an event, a particular time, or view, or desire…
to let go means to give up coercing, resisting, or
struggling…we hold on with our minds. We catch
ourselves, get stuck ourselves, often desperately,
to narrow views, to self-serving hopes and wishes…
What causes us the most unhappiness in life, is our unwillingness to let go of that which no longer serves us. This could be anything – a person, place or thing. When we are holding on to something, we are preventing the natural flow of life. If a habit no longer serves us, then why hold onto it? Why is it so hard to let go? Because we are afraid of losing it. Now there’s an interesting mess.
Why are we afraid? What we “know” is easier to accept than what we don’t know. If we let go of something we are attached to, we are opening ourselves up to the unknown, and that is really scary. It is also Freedom… I believe there is an art to letting go just as there is an art to allowing life to show up as it will and chose your space within it. Go ahead an release a few expectations, you may surprised at how much lighter your load will become. See a new and possibly unfamiliar side yourself. Whooohooo….
Attachment, according to the Buddhist philosophy, causes us the most pain and suffering. This does not mean that you must be a non-caring or complacent person: it simply means that holding onto “things” costs us our freedom, and to enjoy life is to enjoy things as they come and go.
Life is impermanence. Life moves through us. Everything is born and everything dies or as we know it, takes on another form. This is a simple truth and just is. Doesn’t it make sense to just let go and let life happen? Trust life, all of it and a whole new world of doors will open up for you. Transformation happens when we trust our instincts and out intuition and move into action this way. Trust your vision one moment at a time! Be well and so it is….
I will end this contemplation on letting go with a verse by the Buddha himself…think about it:
Do not pursue the past.
Do not lose yourself in the future.
The past no longer is.
The future has not yet come.
Looking deeply at life as it is
Is the very here and now,
The practitioner dwells
In stability and freedom.
We must be diligent today.
To wait until tomorrow is too late.

If you choose, you can hold a space for something bigger than you to evolve…
Today, not much unlike the other days I experience in my workplace, was experiential. Let me explain. When I become the observer, I can disconnect to the aimless chatter and the moments of disease that cause me to say, “I need to separate myself from this white noise.” Can you relate to what I am saying? Judgement is not my intention here but a sense of responsibility to separate myself from that which does not resonate with me or can I say uplift me, this should be a natural response. But is it?
Using visualization and meditation to calm our emotions gives us the ability to choose our moods and mind-set, regardless of our circumstances. When we take a moment to connect with our own higher self and allow ourselves to move into a more comfortable space that says “I See you” , this gives us a moment or three to regroup and know what appears real and what appears as something that belongs to someone else. I think we often feel out of control with our emotions, simply because we don’t realize we have the ability to change them. When we become upset or unsettled by the comments or actions of another person, we simply need to step away from the source of irritation and focus our intentions on creating a peaceful mind-set. Using simple tools like visualization and meditation can help us connect more deeply with our inner self, which allows us to regain our calm regardless of our external circumstances. Choosing to be in charge of our feelings today will allow us to stay grounded and nonreactive in our social interactions for the tomorrows to come. I set this Intention for myself for the week; “I am grateful for life and I continue to live through my Intentions”… There is a divine intelligence that guides all of us in the realization of our desires. I know that I am connected to this and I rediscover the amazing depth to that of who I am and I Just Plain Get it!!! WhoooHooo!!!
You all have an amazing week and discover something simple or possibly complex about yourself. Everything is a possibility. Have at it…Seriously…Something extremely special awaits you….Have at it… Don’t take my word for it. Close your eyes and SEE it, then ask for it with your whole soul.

I have learned that my ability to support others in their endeavors is heightened when I devote at least some portion of my time to the maintenance of my own health and well-being. The better I feel, the more energy I can channel into charitable pursuits that make the world a better place. I commit to beginning my day with a healthy shake at 5 a.m. and 30 minutes of Qigong and pilates movements. The energy that this practice releases within me feels like a dance. This has made a significant difference in my personal well being, my flexibility and my stress level. The key word for me is “practice.” I have a spiritual practice that ensures my overall health and well being. I am just better at everything and for everyone when I remain committed to myself. I encourage this with all my clients before they begin to put action steps towards their “Target Goal.” What will your spiritual, emotional and physical practice be that’s right for you?
So be reminded that our ability to help others meet their goals grows exponentially when we make sure always to take the time to address our own needs. It can be difficult to extend ourselves for the people we care about if we are exhausted or feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of obligations still left on our own plates. To support friends, family, as well as colleagues, we must first learn to support ourselves by paying close attention to our physical and mental wellness. When we feel good and have cultivated inner peace within ourselves, through a committed “practice”, we are excited by the notion of dedicating our leftover time and energy to the endeavors undertaken by others. Ultimately, we are available to help because we have devoted at least some portion of our resources to self care. The efforts you undertake on behalf of others will be fueled by your commitment to your own well-being. So find what “feels good” to you and move yourself with that. I encourage you to find time each day in the stillness and reconnect with your source. Doing this, will allow you to embrace the alignment that you seek, for you cannot find it “out there”, as all the answers are within, just awaiting you to release them.
Today I was asked to deliver a meditation that spoke to new beginnings and old releases at the spiritual center that I attend. It was so well received and was of benefit to so many that I thought I would post the meditation as well as make it available in audio on this blog page by clicking on Interviews button above.
Surely realigning ourselves with our goals and dreams is a gift we give to self. This time of the year seems to be a time of personal introspection, allowing us to go deeper within and examine the aspects of ourselves. It is a time to ask the real questions about what is really standing in our way to attaining the visions that we hold for lives, the day dreams that we desire to be truth in our reality. What is holding you back?
It’s truly crisp and cold outside but it seems to offer an opening to just be with ourselves and ponder the real questions. I say, “there is no need to fear what may show up.” Enjoy the meditation and the journey as you release that which no longer serves you, with gratitude and a smile. Put on your headphones and be with yourself in the quite moments….You may just like who you see….
Meditation for New Beginnings
Take a few deep breaths and allow your body to take in all the air that it needs. Imagine your entire body softening.
Begin by thanking the divine for all the gifts in your life right now. Appreciating where we have been is a magical key to moving forward. Every situation and relationship from your past has taught you something useful, purposeful and intentional. It has made you who you are today.
Now notice those things that have outlived their usefulness. What keeps you stuck? What stops you from living your deepest dreams? Recognize the obstacles to achieving the changes that you choose for your life. Begin to make mental notes of all of those things that you are ready to release. (Breathe)
Where are you still holding resentment toward another? Possibly towards yourself?
Let all your fears, worries, doubts, disappointments, and anger surface in your mind… envision them as a muddy stream which flows out of you as you breathe. See yourself releasing old hurts, sadness, imbalance, and injustice in your life from the past and present. Feel them dissolving, pouring out of your body right here, right now…
Just let them go. Release all the “should haves,” “could haves,” “if onlys.” There are many layers to let go of, so for now, simply let go of those things that you are able to. Take one last glance at them. Just release them effortlessly.
Now see what items, relationships or situations you have outgrown or that need to shift in some way. Take the time to express gratitude for the lessons learned, and then visualize them gently leaving or changing form to promote your new reality. Perhaps you see them in beautiful vibrant colors now…
As you free yourself from the past you open up space for fresh, honest relationships and exciting new opportunities to come into your life.
As the old energy flows out, experience a new lightness, feel a new power and vitality entering into your mind and body opening up space for compassion, for forgiveness, for health, for prosperity and success. Invite in those people who are able to respect, honor and support every aspect of your growth and change. You are shifting now! Feel this in your physical body, it’s real…I promise it’s real.
Dwell in this new space for a short time, opening your heart and expressing gratitude for the opportunity to grow and move forward. Honor and acknowledge yourself for the courage to clear and clean your house and let go. Just BE with yourself and love the empty moments you spend here..
Now imagine that you can breathe in the qualities that you need for this new part of your life. Breathe in courage to be true to yourself. Just breathe it in. Breathe in patience, discipline, spontaneity; anything that you feel would assist you in this new beginning. See yourself as strong and positive, clear and courageous, certain and yet serene as you desire to be.
In your mind’s eye, picture what you would like to receive in your life and imagine yourself easily receiving these gifts. Feel yourself radiating with positive energy as you attract new people, ideas and situations into your life.
See yourself joyful and content with this new reality.
Slowly begin to deepen your breaths. Gently move your fingers and toes. Gently begin to turn your head from side to side. Keeping your eyes closed, I invite you to take three final deep breaths. When you are ready, you may open your eyes. Many blessings for a “Happy New You!”

All things and all people now inspire us as another year unfolds in an early winter stretch of storms and strains and now confounding cold and ice. All this stimulates and moves us as we enjoy the beauty finding safety and comfort in and from the cold. And now, the January march of increasing light toward seeds and saplings and spring that lay buried now, yet brooding in hibernating reverence and patience. So let us too be ever so grateful with patience as we remember who we are, where we are going and how we are getting there… There is a voice that doesn’t use words, just listen….
And so it is….
Knowing who you are as you walk your way through this human experience; means embracing all the parts of yourself, consciously and subconsciously. You must know what is to also know what is not in order to create your oder. Will you consider a different; possibly a new perception as to the relationship between Ego and Higher Self? Could Ego be working with you for your Higher Good? I say, “Yes.”
Listen to a new old thought and gift yourself a new serene way of beingness. If you will; time will show you a way , a way forward in which you had never thought possible. Embrace Ego as your soul’s mate and move through this amazing human experience and I promise you light, love and a garden of color for your eyes only.
I use this perception in my Transformational Coaching Practice and life; it’s events and all it’s movements prove to unfold in an effortless way. Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change; every time….
